Tis the Season

Well for the first time ever I have almost all of my christmas shopping done early! :) Well I still have to get Chapan's but it is in the works. Normally by now I'm just starting to think about what to get everyone. So proud of myself! Chapan's present is the last to get cuz he is the hardest to shop for. He is very specific on things he likes and I never know what it is. Good thing I have a secret weapon to help me. I hope it works.

We went to Michigan for Thanksgiving and we had a wonderful time. My wonderful sister-in-law set up a spa day for me for some much needed R&R. I had a manicure and pedicure as well as the best thing in the world that every woman should have, a facial. :) pure HEAVEN! Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful of course and I loved learning some family recipies from Mama Konkright. Girl bonding time in the kitchen. Madalyn actually liked me this trip which I tried to soak up every minute of it. Of course I can't forget to mention spending time with one of my favorite person, Papa Konkright. We have a special bond. Chapan didn't want to leave, we had so much fun.

We had dinner with the Bishop's family tonight and we had so much fun. It was nice to have little kid noises around the house. My favorite part was they were trying to get the girls showered for sunday tomorrow and I brushed their hair after they got out. Loved every minute of it!!! I hope we were more of a help the a henderence trying to get them ready for bed but I wanted to soak in the nightly routine. Thank you Donat family for sharing your girls with us.

With the season comes christmas movies!!!! I love christmas movies so I try to get as many in as possible. Mom bought this 4 pack of old movies that we have been watching and they are sooooo good!!! Nothing is better than sitting by the fire with my man and a good christmas movie. Hope that this season finds you well. Merry Christmas everyone!

Love,
The Konkrights

October

So much has happened in a month. Chapan and I just celebrated our 2nd anniversary!!! I can't believe that we have been married for 2 years. The time has gone by so fast. We had a wonderful weekend together. Friday we went out to dinner and to Hale Center Theater to see My Fair Lady. It was so good and we both enjoyed it. Saturday we went to the farmers market and the gateway and just spent time together and it was nice to get away from everything and just have each other.

I love my little family so much. Chapan and I have been in limbo with our life lately. We planned what we thought was the right direction for our family and of course Heavenly Father lovingly redirected our path. We planned only being in my parents basement for a short time but the Lord had other plans :) Chapan and I now have callings in our ward and finally after living here for 4 months, I've started to unpack. I think the Lord wants us here a little longer. A couple of other things have happened to us but the Lord has guided us through the rough waters and is directing our path. Life can be hard at times but it is so comforting to know that the Lord is always with us.

We are very excited because we are going to Michigan for Thanksgiving!!! We are flying for only the 2nd time but I'm excited because we are flying into Kalamazoo which is only 30 minutes from chapan's house instead of Chicago which is 4 hours away. So it should be along day of traveling but it will be faster then driving! :) We can't wait so see family. Well that is what is going on with us, until next time. :)

The Weekend

Chapan and I had a fun day today. We have been thinking about buying a house, so we've been trying to do some homework like looking at interest rates, figuring out what we can afford and what not. So today we decided to drive around neighborhoods that we like and see what houses are for sale. I quickly realized that we are to poor to buy the houses that I initialy were drawn to. No worries we are still in the very very begining phase of house hunting and what not but we still had lots of fun dreaming and getting slightly car sick as we wound around neighborhoods. :)

Tonight I really wanted to go to dinner some place different from our normal places we go, so we found a little pizza and pasta place at jordan landing that we hadn't tried yet. We get there and quickly put our name on the list and sit and wait for our turn. We soon found out that there was a birthday party going on, the clue came quickly when 20 10-12 year olds started screaming happy birthday. They then continued to run in and out of the restaurant! I couldn't believe it, where were their parents! Then I looked on the other side of the restaurant and there they were all grouped together in the corner ignoring there wild screaming kids. I don't understand parents sometimes. I know it's probably easy for me to say that because I'm not one myself yet, but really parents be a little involved. Let them run wild at home but not in public. Other than that we had a wonderful dinner and night out. We stopped by Old Navy and I got to see one of my good friends from when I worked there. He was like a little brother, and he told me he puts his papers in for a mission in 3 months! So excited! Can't wait to hear where he goes! Well I'm singing in church tomorrow so I'd better make sure I'm ready. :)

Trying Something New

I love reading all of my families blogs. I cry, laugh, and love them with every single one. So I thought I'd try it. I'm awful at journaling, and when I say awful I mean it. I have been married for almost 2 years and Chapan doesn't even exisit in my journal. I know right! So I'm not saying I'll be very good at this but I'm going to atleast try. So here it goes....

Chapan and I graduated in July! finally! We were so excited to be finished with college and Rexburg but now that everyone has started we find ourselves wishing we were amoung them. Funny how we always think life is greener on the other side. But I guess that is natural when you first finish school. Chapan has found a job in Orem and we are both excited that he has found one so soon out of school. We can't wait till we can find a place of our own. We are looking at Riverton and Draper area but we haven't yet decided what we are looking for. House, Basement apt., town home. who know!?! but the skies the limit! :)
Well I hope I did ok for my first time blogging. But I figure I can only get better!!!
